Two writers from opposite sides of the Pacific Ocean. A twitter friendship. A mutual need to create a space for projects outside the spheres of work or professionalism. A mutual inability to maintain a blog for more than three months.

Bone and Gold is the collaborative blog project that came out of this dilemma; a place for us to write all the pieces that have been floating around in our heads but won’t fit anywhere else in our lives. We’ve created it together in an effort to keep one another in check; writers are notoriously abstract about the concept of self-direction, but two writers may be able to mutually herd each other into regular schedules and consistent material.

Bone and Gold has no overarching theme, nor explicit rules of content. You’ll see a variety of different pieces on a wide swath of topics from both Cam and Mia; sometimes we’ll work together, and other times we won’t. The goal is to write, and keep writing, and to have a place to put it all at the end of the day.

Cameron Boon lives in the City of Townsville (in Australia). So far there have been zero sightings of the Powerpuff Girls, but he sees that as a fairly good sign due, as the cartoon characters are usually defending Townsville from giant monsters or whatever.
Cameron is a photojournalist with a passion for music and film, but has been known to occasionally write an atrocious piece of fiction.
You can find his reviews over on www.theboonreview.blogspot.com.au
He will clog up your twitter feed at www.twitter.com/BakedBoons
Here is a thing. Cameron didn’t make it.
